Reaching Into Infinity
Another very good album from this excellent band. The slower opening instrumental track gently leads us into the typical fast-paced content of the collection, which includes some rather more serious stuff than their previous offerings, particularly track six 'Silence' which is slower and very sad, telling a story full of regrets, but it still has some very good guitar riffs in the middle. Most of the tracks are driven along at breakneck speed as per usual of Dragonforce. Track eight 'War!' has a slow start but soon gets moving with at times too much chanting repetition of the word 'war'. 'Land of Shattered Dreams' gets back into their usual style and 'The Edge of the World' is the longest track, at times reminiscent of Iron Maiden, complete with time changes, but also with some growling vocals in the middle until it settles down again, thankfully.
